About the book, "Watch for Red Rocks"

Sedona, Arizona is a unique and scenic travel destination. The colors and majestic beauty of this high desert locale are unparalleled. Located about 2 hours north of Phoenix, and just 45 minutes south of Flagstaff, Sedona is an accessible tourist hot spot welcoming about 4 million visitors a year from around the globe. Some drive up to escape the oppressive summers in the valley and others sojourn here to the vortexes hoping to attain spiritual growth and enlightenment.

Sedona is famous for its clusters of crimson rock formations some of which have unusual and descriptive names. As a writer, the fact that these formations had names fascinated me. I felt these red rocks were characters in their own right.

Curious about how these formations were named, I wondered about the first settlers who would have named them and began to research the origins of Sedona. I quickly discovered that this spectacularly scenic landscape was also rich in history and tall tales.
